On 30/10/2015 and for the fifth year running, HYGEIA Hospital hosted the one-day event entitled “Latest Developments in Liver Diseases V”. The event was organized by HYGEIA Hospital’s Hepatology Department, under the auspices of the Hellenic Association for the Study of Liver, the HYGEIA Scientific Board and the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors. Dimitrios Tsantoulas, Assistant Professor & Honorary Director of HYGEIA Hospital’s Hepatology Department, served as Chairman of the organizing committee.
The topics discussed included the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis B and C; the link between hepatic disease, vasculitis and renal complications; the current situation with liver transplantations in Greece; the lab strategy for investigating hepatic disorders; modern imaging diagnosis of focal lesions in the liver; the significance of early diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune liver diseases; and the treatment of systemic disease in hepatic patients.
