HYGEIA Hospital

HYGEIA Hospital is the first large private hospital to operate in Greece and has been a leading healthcare provider for the last 40 years. It is located in the northern suburbs of Athens and close to the Athens International Airport.

MITERA Hospital

MITERA HOSPITAL is a diverse healthcare institution, one of the largest in Greece, comprising of a General, a Maternity / Gynecology and a Children’s Hospital. MITERA has been providing comprehensive healthcare services to women, children and families for over 30 years. It extends to 7 floors and has 501 beds (including triple-bed rooms, semi-private and private theaters, deluxe rooms, suites and a 1,000 sq. ft. Presidential Suite), 20 operating rooms, 6 delivery rooms, 17 labor rooms, 1,500 affiliated medical staff and 950 nursing and administrative staff.

All the MITERA Hospital Departments have received the ISO 9001:2008 quality management certification by TÜV Austria Hellas. The quality certificate was issued following the successful detailed inspection of the operating procedures followed in all MITERA Hospital Departments.

Mitera Baby Friendly HospitalIn accordance with General Register No./Ref. 79023 decision of the Greek Ministry of Health, MITERA has been certified as a Baby-Friendly Hospital, since it implements the practices required by UNICEF and WHO with regard to breastfeeding. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) for maternity hospitals is based on the joint declaration of WHO and UNICEF to "Protect, promote and support breastfeeding". According to the Initiative, a maternity hospital must implement the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and must comply with the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes so as to be recognized as a Baby-Friendly Hospital (BFH).
