Admission to the Maternity Clinic

Your admission—whether scheduled or emergency—takes place at the Admissions Desk. The staff at the Admissions Desk will handle the entire admission process and will ask you for:

Your personal information to fill out the admission form, which you will sign.
Your preferred room type.

Required documents

Marriage Certificate issued within the last six months or Certificate of Family Status (in case of an unmarried mother)
ID Card or Passport
Insurance policy or private insurance card
The Social Security Numbers (AMKA) of both parents
The mother’s IBAN number

Be sure to consult your doctor to see if you need to bring any test results, ultrasound images, or other documents related to any health issues.

Maternity Bag

For you:

Nightgowns suitable for breastfeeding
A robe for moving around comfortably within the maternity clinic.
Slippers (optional, as they are provided by the maternity clinic).
Personal care items (cosmetics, toiletries, etc.).
Underwear (such as nursing bras)
Comfortable clothes and flat shoes for when you leave the maternity ward.
Cream for the prevention and treatment of sore nipples (optional)
Your cell phone and charger
Books or magazines

For your baby:

During your hospital stay, all necessary items for your baby’s clothing and care will be provided; however, for your discharge, please make sure to bring the following with you:

Baby underwear
Diapers or baby blankets
Clothing you’ll need when taking your newborn home, depending on the season (onesie, socks, hat, jacket, sheet, and blanket)
Means to safely transport the newborn by car

It is essential that all of the baby’s clothing be washed with special soap for newborns
