Hygeia Hospital is the first hospital in Greece awarded for its work environment and is also included amongst the top companies in Best Workplaces’ 2011 ranking.Τhe award was presented on Apri, 11 2011.

This survey was conducted in Greece, by ‘Best Place to Work Institute Hellas’ in collaboration with ALBA Graduate Business School, and showed that Hygeia Hospital gained the fourth place in company rankings with over 250 employees with the best working environment.

Hygeia Hospital was distinguished amongst those companies, from a survey involving a total of 42 companies, and employing around 14,703 employees. Hygeia Hospital CEO, Ms. Areti Souvatzoglou, commented on the outcome of the survey: “This is the first time that a hospital gained such recognition of the work environment and we are very proud of it! This type of recognition is a result of sincere collaboration, bilateral relations, understanding and respect between administration and employees. Hygeia Hospital employees are the driving force of our hospital. For this reason, we support them and they reward us! “.

This honorary distinction follows Hygeia Hospital’s leading accreditation as the only hospital in Greece that has been certified by international quality standard agency, Joint Commission International (JCI). Predominant role for this distinction played the nursing, scientific & medical staff at all levels, which endorsed and supported efforts of Hygeia Hospital.

Press Release

Best Workplaces’ annual survey selects companies with the best working environment, and is organized in Greece by ‘Great Place to Work Institute Hellas’. Company evaluation is performed in collaboration with the Department of applied research of ALBA Graduate Business School. Classification of companies is based on two factors: employee responses in the Trust Index © questionnaire (weight 2 / 3), and Human Resource Directorate responses regarding Personnel Administration in two Culture Audit © questionnaires (weight 1 / 3). Results of these two tools (Trust Index © and Culture Audit ©) determine the final ranking of companies.

The study examines and evaluates 5 basic parameters of a working environment, as determined by the methodology of Great Place to Work:

The credibility of the administration.
Respect for workers.
The sense of justice that exists in the company.
The sense of pride employees feel.
A developing sense of comradeship.
