Pediatric Ophthalmology

Αt MITERA Children’s Hospital we created the Pediatric Ophthalmology Department, one that includes a Diagnosis and a Surgical Unit. The Department offers management for the whole spectrum of ophthalmologic conditions that can occur in a child.  Apart from our top- class ophthalmologists, the Department is equipped with specially designed examining rooms and cutting- edge third generation surgical equipment.

The services of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Department include: detailed Pediatric Ophthalmologic evaluation with the use of the most advanced equipment, prescription of eye glasses, diagnosis and treatment of strabismus and amblyopia, as well as other conditions such as nasolacrimal problems, congenital and developmental cataracts, cornea and retinal conditions, glaucoma, ocular trauma and evaluation and management of patients with low vision.

In addition we examine all premature infants born at MITERA, as well as the full- term ones if their parents wish so.
