The diagnostic tests performed included blood tests, Pap tests, full body and vascular ultrasounds, cardiograms, heart Doppler ultrasounds, spirometry tests, eye exams and biopsies.

Commenting on the initiative, the HYGEIA Group CEO, Mr Andreas Kartapanis, noted, “It was with great joy that we responded to the Mayor’s request to offer free-of-charge medical and diagnostic services to the people of Sifnos, which, although not described as a remote island, has a compelling need for healthcare services. The Group’s commitment is to assist in promoting and safeguarding public health within the country. As a result, we are consistently continuing with the 11th campaign, providing free-of-charge healthcare services to our fellow citizens. The cornerstone of the Traveling for Health campaign is the selfless contribution of all the Group volunteers, who have a strong sense of social responsibility and work tirelessly; for this I thank them.”

The Mayor of Sifnos, Mr Andreas Bampounis, warmly thanked the HYGEIA Group volunteers who arrived on the island, noting, “This action was very successful. The Group’s team of volunteers converted the new primary school into a small hospital, where the people of Sifnos had the chance to receive free-of-charge medical and diagnostic services. We sincerely thank HYGEIA Group CEO Andreas Kartapanis, who responded to our request immediately.”

The Traveling for Health initiative was designed with the aim of meeting the needs of residents on remote small islands or mountainous regions who do not enjoy easy access to medical services. Backed by the top medical services and cutting-edge equipment of the Group’s medical facilities, the HYGEIA volunteers embark on trips to offer diagnostic tests, medical services and humane care.
