03 March 2026
Guided by a long-standing commitment to social responsibility and marking 50 years of continuous operation, HYGEIA Hospital continues with enthusiasm its social impact initiatives, offering free medical and diagnostic examinations to citizens across Greece, in areas where access to specialized healthcare is often limited.
As part of the HHG Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility program “PANTOU”, the mission travelled to Milos on June 21 and 22, offering free medical services to the island’s residents. The action was hosted at the Milos Conference Canter and was organized under the coordination of HYGEIA Hospital. The mission consisted of 26 physicians – of 20 specialties, as well as of 30 volunteers as nursing, technical and administrative staff.
At the same time, free haematological and biochemical tests for adults and children, general ultrasound scans, electrocardiograms, heart ultrasounds, Pap tests, gynaecological ultrasounds and spirometry tests were performed. The participation of residents was impressive: more than 615 residents were examined and more than 3.000 medical and diagnostic tests were performed, reaffirming the necessity and value of such initiatives.
As part of the preventive medical examinations conducted, cases requiring further medical investigation and treatment were identified. HYGEIA will provide free-of-charge care to these patients, demonstrating its enduring commitment to social responsibility and meaningful community contribution.
Mr. Andreas Kartapanis, President and CEO of HYGEIA, stated: “This year, HYGEIA completes 50 years of continuous contribution to health, guided by a long-standing commitment to people and society. The program “Pantou” is not just another Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. It is a real proof of our commitment to stand by our fellow citizens, wherever they may be. Our visit to Milos marks the continuation of our mission, aiming at prevention and equal access to medical services for all. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the physicians and volunteers who participated, as well as the residents for their warm reception”.
The Mayor of Milos, Mr. Manolis Mikelis, stated: “We express our sincere gratitude to HYGEIA and the HHG Group, as well as to the physicians and the team of volunteers, -of outstanding contribution- who with a great sense of responsibility and professionalism, provided medical services to the residents of Milos. The warm response of the local community highlighted the importance and necessity of such initiatives.”
The Corporate Social Responsibility program “PANTOU” has now been established as a stable institution of social contribution, consistently reflecting the philosophy and human-centred character of the HHG Group. Firmly orientated towards care, quality and respect, we continue to stand by our fellow citizens, all over Greece.
The HHG Group warmly thanks MINOAN LINES for its significant contribution to the transport of medical equipment to Milos, providing a concrete contribution to the implementation of the action.
