HYGEIA is the first to bring the NAEOTOM Alpha.Pro CT scanner, an innovative system with photon-counting technology, to Greece.

With the installation of Greece’s first new-generation CT scanner by Siemens Healthineers, HYGEIA takes another decisive step in advancing diagnostic imaging. This move dynamically strengthens its Imaging Departments.
NAEOTOM Alpha.Pro represents a completely new category of CT scanner, based on groundbreaking photon-counting technology, which is fundamentally different from the conventional CT scanners used to date. This technology offers clearer tissue visualization while simultaneously reducing the radiation dose, making it suitable for repeated examinations. In many cases, it also allows for a significant reduction in the required contrast agent.
With a resolution significantly higher than conventional CT scanners, the system allows visualization of small lesions, thin vessels, and early-stage pathologies with previously unattainable clarity.
Thanks to its dual X-ray tube design and fast scanning speeds, the NAEOTOM Alpha.Pro is ideal for cardiovascular and vascular examinations, even in patients with elevated heart rates, often eliminating the need for pharmaceutical preparation. Furthermore, it provides superior coronary and vascular angiography, unaffected by calcium or intracoronary stents, thereby offering greater diagnostic reliability.
Low-dose chest CT is particularly important, with radiation levels approaching those of just two standard chest X-rays, opening new possibilities for preventive screening and patient monitoring.
Furthermore, spectral imaging capability in a single examination provides physicians with detailed information about tissue composition, contributing to a more accurate assessment of findings.
With the installation of the NAEOTOM Alpha.Pro, HYGEIA reaffirms its commitment to innovative technologies, aiming to provide high-quality diagnostic services for the benefit of patients.
