“Better health for a greater life” New distinction for HYGEIA at the Bravo Sustainability Awards

14 June 2021

HYGEIA has earned a place among the leading and socially responsible companies in Greece after receiving an award in this year’s Bravo Sustainability Awards, hosted by the QualityNet Foundation (QNF), in the context of the Bravo Sustainability Week 2021.

The Bravo Sustainability Week 2021 is an annual meet-up for all socially responsible organizations that undertake such initiatives, as well as active citizens who participate and contribute to the success and development of initiatives that shape the future of Greece.

Specifically, HYGEIA, a member of the Hellenic Healthcare Group, the largest private healthcare group in Greece, received an award in the Bravo in Action category for its “Better health for a greater life” initiative, which aimed to inform and raise awareness among citizens, and especially students, to adopt responsible practices that contribute to improving our quality of life. The programs, initiatives and actions in this year’s event were assessed through discussions between assessment committees and 14,380 active citizens.

The program designed by HYGEIA falls within Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and included the development and free distribution of educational material to primary and high schools. It is a comprehensive educational package for teachers, students and the whole family, aiming to get society involved in the changes that aim to make the planet sustainable. A total of 4,900 students from 55 schools across the country participated in the program.

Commenting on this award, Mr. Andreas Kartapanis, HYGEIA Chairman and CEO, stated, “For over 50 years now, HYGEIA, the first large private hospital in Greece, has been growing and evolving, with sustainability as our guide. For all of us, sustainability is not just a vague concept. It has an essential and tangible meaning and relates to everything we can do today to secure a better and more optimistic future for society, the environment and Greece. This new distinction for HYGEIA is a great honor for us and makes us proud, but above all it confirms that our guide continues to point us to the right direction, towards the future.”
