Conferring of Postgraduate Certificates at HYGEIA

A ceremony marking the end of the latest Postgraduate Internship Program was held at the HYGEIA Hospital Meeting Hall on Friday January 19, 2015. HYGEIA funds this 4-month program, which caters for young doctors who wish to specialize in internal medicine and surgery, and want to work as hospital physicians.

Mr. Andreas Kartapanis, HYGEIA Hospital CEO; Mr Georgios Zacharopoulos, HYGEIA Scientific Board Chairman; Mr Ioannis Apostolakis, HYGEIA Medical Services Director; Mr Kosmas Iliadis, Educational Committee Chairman; and Mr Vasileios Prasopoulos, Chairman of the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors, delivered welcoming speeches. The Director of the 1st Cardiology Clinic at HYGEIA, Mr Athanasios Pipilis, gave the keynote speech entitled “Medical Educators and Students: a Two-Way Relationship”.

In keeping with the annual tradition during the closing ceremony for the Postgraduate Program, a lifetime achievement award was presented yet again by the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors to a HYGEIA Hospital physician. This year the recipient of the award was Radiologist Ioannis Fanariotis. The attendance certificates were conferred to the postgraduate physicians at the end of the event.
