The Arthroscopy Training Seminar “MAC 3: Masterclass Arthroscopy Course” was a complete success.

04 March 2026

The training seminar “MAC 3: Masterclass Arthroscopy Course” was held on February 27–28, 2026. The theoretical part took place on Friday, February 27, at the “N. Louros” Conference Centre, while the practical sessions were held on Saturday, February 28, at the ATT Centre in Maroussi. The seminar was completed with great success.

Current developments in Orthopaedic Arthroscopy, the ongoing evolution of arthroscopic techniques, advances in equipment and tools, and the application of minimally invasive procedures formed the core of the scientific program. The need for specialized knowledge and practical training makes arthroscopy a field of continuous study for both new and experienced orthopaedic surgeons.

More than 150 orthopaedic surgeons and healthcare professionals attended the seminar. The practical workshops, offering hands-on training on cadaveric specimens, attracted great interest, with all available positions filling quickly and receiving excellent reviews for their high educational value, with the available positions being filled in a short period of time and with excellent reviews for their high educational level.

The topics developed were of high scientific interest, with the participation of distinguished speakers from Greece and abroad, contributing to substantive scientific dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experiences.

The organizers of the seminar, G. Skarpas, Director of the 3rd Orthopaedic Clinic of Sports Injuries and Regenerative Medicine at HYGEIA-MITERA, Dr. P. Kontovazainitis, Director of the 4th Orthopaedic Clinic of Sports Injuries & Knee & Hip Arthroplasty at HYGEIA-MITERA, and G. Karaliotas, Deputy Director of the 6th Orthopaedic Clinic at HYGEIA, expressed their satisfaction with the successful conduct and conclusions of MAC 3, stating that: “The MAC seminar aspires to play a significant role and establish itself as an educational and scientific institution in the field of Orthopaedics, offering documented knowledge and high-level practical training to Greek and foreign orthopaedic surgeons.”

During the seminar, an award ceremony honored distinguished personalities of the Greek Orthopaedic community: Mr. Panagiotis N. Soukakos, Academician and Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Athens, considered the father of modern Orthopaedics in Greece and mentor to hundreds of Greek orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Pantelis Nikolaou, Director of Orthopaedics and pioneer in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery in Greece, and A. Georgoulis, Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Ioannina, recognized for his pioneering clinical and research work in sports injuries.
