Visit of the 15th world community Leksell Gamma Knife Conference’s participants in HYGEIA

More 200 Conveners visited the Hospital HYGEIA to see closely the most modern Department of Brain Surgery in Europe, where has recently been installed the new o radio surgical equipment Gamma Knife^® PerfexionTM.

The majority of the Conveners were doctors, Neurosurgeons, Radiotherapists, Oncologist, Specialized Nurses, Radiologists and technicians. The- impressed in general- guests had the opportunity to watch a presentation of the new Gamma Knife Perfexion, as well of the EXTEND system, used in the Radiosurgical sector in order to operate head and neck without frame and mask.

Comments and impressions were highly flattering both for the organization of the section and for the innovative equipment.
In addition, visitors had the opportunity to see closely and the 1st Linear Accelerator installed in Europe, in the Centre of Radiotherapeutical Oncology, the Electa AXESSE. Extremely great interest has been expressed about the way that tumors in spin are healed.

The Gamma Knife Perfexion combined with the Linear Accelerator AXESSE technologies provides advanced stereotactic radio surgery and radiotherapy (in one day) for cases of diseases of the head and body, which present the greatest difficulties in dealing with them.
