HYGEIA: Academic Partnership with the European University Cyprus School of Medicine School of Medicine

18 July 2018

HYGEIA has become an international academic medical center, after striking a significant partnership with the European University Cyprus School of Medicine.

This 10-year partnership will contribute in educating and training Medicine students, exchanging know-how on clinical practice and education, promoting common-interest activities, and launching academic and educational initiatives in the field of Medicine.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday July 18, 2018, during an official ceremony held at the N. Louros Conference Center, MITERA Hospital, further forging the partnership before a great number of representatives from European University Cyprus, executives, academics and HYGEIA Group doctors.

Commenting on the partnership, the HYGEIA Group CEO, Mr Andreas Kartapanis, noted, “We are quite proud of this partnership, as through our team of distinguished doctors, our state-of-the-art equipment and our over 35 years of experience, we are in a position to impart our knowledge and values to the next generation of doctors. Our primary consideration is to educate and train young physicians, and to trade know-how, because that’s how we invest in the future of our doctors! We want this future to be built on solid foundations, and we will contribute to this in any way we can.”

On his part, the CEO and President of the University Council, Dr Christoforos Hadjikyprianou, stated, “This partnership with HYGEIA Group is of crucial importance and constitutes a great honor for European University Cyprus and the academic community. Two major organizations are joining forces and creating added value, not only for the area of healthcare, but also for society and the economy in general. It also offers a competitive edge to the students of the European University Cyprus School of Medicine in terms of their clinical and hands-on experience, and aligns with our strategic goal to make the School of Medicine a model medical education center in SE Europe.”
